A person is affected by the problem of muscle cramps while walking, riding a bicycle and while doing yoga stretches incorrectly. It can be caused even while sleeping. It can affect any muscle-leg, calf, forearm, upper arm or even a toe or the baby finger can be affected.

There are numerous causes of muscle cramps. It may be due lack of calcium in the diet of the people as calcium plays an important role in relaxing the muscles. It may be caused due to insufficient supply of the blood or in some case excess supply of the blood to the muscles. Hypoparathyroidism is also related with the problem of muscle cramps. In this condition due to underactive parathyroid the person loses calcium and finally it results into muscle cramps. Muscle cramps are also caused due to exposure to cold and poor circulation.

Some of the important herbal remedies to reduce muscular cramps -

1. The problem of muscular cramps can be reduced by the application of clove oil as a poultice near the affected portion. You have to massage the oil gently over the affected area. Application of clove oil is helpful in stimulating the body to set its nervous and muscular system right quickly.

2. The other herb which is famous by the name of mulethi and it is also known as liquorice is a rejuvenating drug. This herb is mentioned in ancient ayurvedic and Chinese medicines. Its root is very effective in muscular disorders and also in cramps infusion. You have to soak its root overnight in water and then extract its juice. Take this juice 3-4 times a day. It also helps to alleviate the muscular pains.



3. Pepper is also very effective in treating the muscular cramps. Its external application helps to dialate the superficial vessels which act as a counter irritant. Pepper is very useful in reducing as well as relieving the pain of muscular cramps due to the chavicine resin as it is more abundant in mesoscrap. To prepare it you have to fry a spoon of pepper in sesame oil and cooked until it is charred. Apply it on the affected part. It will act as an analgesic ointment. Sufferer will feel immediate cooling and relieving sensation.

4. You can also use Bishops weed seeds to reduce the symptoms of muscular cramps. The patient will get instant relief from muscular cramps by the use of bishops weed seeds.
