Natural Remedies for Sprain

Below are the natural remedies that are found useful in the treatment of sprain:

- Take complete rest to prevent further injury to the area and to healing. Ice massage, ice packs are important to keep the swelling down and prevent muscle spasms. Don't leave ice on the skin too long as it can be harmful for nerves. Use ice massage every 3-4 hours for the first 2-3 days after the injury. After 2-3 days you can start little bit hot massage.

- Wrap the ankle for couple of days to prevent more swelling and bruising. Keep injured area about heart level or above to prevent the swelling and bruising. Keep the ankle elevated or labeled for about 3-4 hours a day. If you have extreme swelling or bruises or pain and you can't move then you should immediately consult to your doctor.

- Eat a healthy and balance diet with lots of fruits and vegetables to keep muscles, bones and tissues strong.
