Having dandruff on your hair can prove to be very embarrassing for you in public. The problem becomes worse especially when you are wearing dark coloured clothes on which dandruff is clearly visible to other people. For those who have a high amount of dandruff in their hair, they suffer from such a high inferiority complex that they hate to go out in the public and do not involve themselves much in social activities. They prefer to stay at home in order to save themselves from embarrassment.
For such people, there are various cures available in the market, in the form of shampoos, conditioners and other hair care products that have the "anti-dandruff" label on them. However, it has been found out that most of these products do not work, or do not give the desired results. Hence, it is better not to waste your money on buying such products. Instead, it is good to depend on some simple home remedies that can help to get the problem of dandruff in your hair sorted.
One of the most common causes of dandruff is dryness. When your hair does not have the adequate level of moisture and nourishment, dandruff starts to develop because of the dryness. Thus, it is advisable to get into the habit of regular oiling. You can choose whatever oil you like, such as coconut or almond, and just massage your scalp and hair with that oil 1 hour before you go for a head wash.
Another option is to mix equal amounts of Tea Tree Oil and Aloe Vera Oil, and then apply that on your hair and scalp. Leave it for around 15 minutes, and then shampoo as normal. Tea Tree oil is very good for the hair because it has anti bacterial and anti fungal properties that help to develop healthy hair growth.
Applying lemon juice your hair is one trick which has probably been passed on to us from generations of ancestors. Indeed, lemon juice massage and application for just 20 minutes, around twice a week, is very good for those who have high amounts of dandruff in their hair. For added shine and benefits, you could also mix some honey, which again helps to get rid of bacteria and helps in healthy hair growth. It also adds lustre and shine to the hair.
You can also soak fenugreek seeds overnight, and then mash them in the morning to create a paste. Apply this paste on your scalp and leave it for around 30 minutes, and then shampoo. Alternately, you could add this paste to a Henna hair pack as well. Henna hair packs can also have other ingredients in them, ranging from lemon juice to honey to curd etc. Since Henna pack is herbal and natural and gives good hair growth, adding natural ingredients to that pack could prove to be very good. You could also egg for an added shine and bounce in your hair. Massage of Vinegar on your hair for 15 minutes before shampoo is also a good way to get rid of dandruff.
